Taipei City Taxi Driver Crashes into Traffic Light Pole, Flipping Car Over; Driver Temporarily Unconscious

On the evening of June 9th in Taiping District, Taichung City, 56-year-old taxi driver surnamed Zhang was involved in a self-collision accident while driving along Zhongshan Road Section 4 and Hanxi East Road Section 2. He veered off the road, crashed into a traffic light pole, and flipped his car, emitting smoke. Concerned witnesses helped Zhang out of the car due to fear of fire. Police and emergency services promptly arrived, sending Zhang to the hospital with minor injuries. Zhang attributed the accident to feeling unwell, with no alcohol detected in his system. Authorities are reviewing surveillance footage to determine the cause of the crash, while reminding drivers to prioritize their health to avoid regrettable incidents.
