Taipei City to Charge Fees for Electric Scooters Parked in Parking Lots for Over 3 Days

Reported about 1 year ago

To encourage the use of electric scooters, starting from 2018, Taipei City allowed free parking for electric scooters in designated parking lots. However, this led to issues of prolonged occupation, with some owners leaving their scooters parked for over ten days. Starting in July, a fee will be imposed for continuous parking exceeding three days to address this problem. Nevertheless, the biggest challenge remains the insufficient number of parking spaces for scooters in the city.
