In the second stage of the 'Shanhai Citizens Dismantling Liang Action' to recall Keelung Mayor Xie Guoliang, the petition group is close to reaching the threshold with only 2000 signatures needed. However, activists were questioned by the police in Taipei's Zhongxiao Dunhua Station and asked to provide their IDs. Taipei City Councilor Chien Shu-Pei criticized the police actions, emphasizing that the activists were just expressing opinions and collecting signatures for the recall petition, not forcing anyone. The incident sparked a confrontation between volunteers and police, with Chien Shu-Pei alleging that the KMT may be behind the police's interference. The police clarified that they responded to a public report and acted according to standard procedures, denying any harassment towards the activists.
