Taipei Research and Development Commission Chairman Liu Yanli Involved in Green Camp Legislator Primary Election, Questioned by Councilors for 'Self-Initiating Investigation'

Liu Yanli, Chairman of the Taipei Research and Development Commission, was questioned by city councilors for allegedly violating administrative neutrality in the Green Camp legislator primary election. Nationalist Party legislator Hsu Chiao-hsin was unexpectedly linked to a fraud and money laundering case involving her husband, which brought attention to her husband, Liu Yanli, who was previously involved in a Democratic Progressive Party primary election in Tainan. Taipei councilor Jiang Chao-kuo and others questioned Liu for allegedly using public resources to interfere in another party's primary election. Liu defended that his actions did not involve public resources or abuse of authority, and hoped that there wouldn't be any misunderstandings spread. The councilors demanded an investigation by the Public Servants Administrative Neutrality Discipline Committee, which was referred to the city government's Research Office for handling.
