Eslite Showtime Cinema in Taipei's bustling Ximending, a popular landmark for moviegoers, will cease operations on August 31st after 18 years due to the expiration of its lease. The cinema, part of the Showtime Cinemas chain with 17 locations and 184 screens nationwide, will be replaced by a new flagship cinema in Taipei Dome area by 2025, offering a variety of special screening experiences and hosting movie events, as confirmed by Showtime Cinemas.
