The Directorate General of Budget, Accounting and Statistics released data showing that 68% of employees in Taiwan earn an average monthly salary of less than 50,000 NTD. Some respondents expressed dissatisfaction, stating that a salary of at least 70,000 to 80,000 NTD is needed to cover living expenses. The study also highlighted industries with lower salaries, like arts and entertainment, hospitality, and support services, where average salaries range from 30,000 to 40,000 NTD. Discussions on adjusting the minimum wage are ongoing, raising concerns about increased business costs and potential unemployment in the micro and small business sectors.
