Taiwan Chamber of Commerce and Industry Offers Suggestions to President Lai Ching-de, Wu Dongliang Urges Reevaluation of Non-Nuclear Homeland Timetable

On June 17, 2024, President Lai Ching-de received a delegation from the Taiwan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, led by Chairman Wu Dongliang, who presented a set of recommendations covering AI innovation, zero carbon transformation, financial development, and supply chain restructuring. President Lai pledged to have relevant ministries consider these proposals and urged companies to address issues such as low wages by sharing profits with employees, establishing childcare centers, and providing staff dormitories. Wu Dongliang emphasized the need for Taiwan to grasp international opportunities, enhance low-carbon power supply, and reassess the non-nuclear homeland timetable to align with global zero emissions trends for AI industry growth and achieving Taiwan's goal as an AI hub.
