Taiwan Coast Guard Confronts Chinese Patrol Near 'Taiwan Strait Median Line' to Protect Fishing Boats, Close Standoff Captured

Reported about 1 year ago

On July 4, 2024, Taiwan's coast guard successfully prevented Chinese patrols from obstructing a Taiwanese fishing boat, the 'Da Jin Man 88,' near Kinmen, which was later escorted back to Weitou Port in Fujian by Mainland China's coast guards. In an effort to protect fishing activities, recent days have seen confrontations between Taiwan's coast guard and Chinese patrols around the Taiwan Strait median line. When the fishing boat 'Sheng Yuan Fu 8' encountered Chinese patrol vessels, the coast guard promptly dispatched 2 ships and 3 boats for assistance, allowing the fishing boat to depart without being boarded for inspection. Images of the close standoff between the two sides at sea have since been exposed.
