On July 4, 2024, at 5:42 am, at the Matsu Airport, rumors circulated that a Chinese military drone had intruded into Matsu's airspace on July 2, affecting civil aviation flights. However, Taiwan's Army Defense Ministry clarified on July 4 that the drone did not enter the restricted airspace over Matsu. The ministry stated that after tracking the drone, they informed the civil aviation tower as protocol and took appropriate action based on their responsibilities and judgment. They urged against spreading misinformation to avoid misleading the public.
