Taiwan Education Ministry to Cover Higher Power Rates for Schools

Taiwan's Education Ministry plans to include the cost differential between Taiwan Power Company's charges and educational electricity rates in the 2025 budget to alleviate financial pressure on universities and colleges during the summer's peak electricity demands. Minister of Education Cheng Ying-yao highlighted the importance of energy efficiency for educational institutions and shared successful practices from Sun Yat-sen University, where utility consumption has decreased over the years.
