Reported 8 months ago

Taiwan is currently facing a heatwave with temperatures reaching up to 38 degrees Celsius and continual thunderstorms for the past 7 days, which is considered unusual according to meteorologist Wu Derong. The heatwave is expected to continue in Taiwan due to the influence of the Pacific high pressure system, resulting in hot and sunny weather with temperatures ranging from 36 to 38 degrees Celsius. Residents are advised to take precautions against sunburn and heatstroke. The thunderstorms, caused by the afternoon release of atmospheric instability, are expected to affect mountainous areas with a chance of showers and thunderstorms spreading to lower elevations as well.
