Tesla CEO Elon Musk announced that production of the Cybercab, an autonomous electric vehicle designed without pedals or a steering wheel, will begin in April at the Austin factory. Despite concerns about regulatory approvals, Musk remains optimistic about the Cybercab's future, claiming it will reduce costs significantly in autonomous operation. The vehicle was first revealed in October 2024, and while Tesla has launched a robotaxi service using Model Y SUVs, the actual Cybercab production will move forward soon.
