In a meeting organized by the Taiwan High Prosecutors' Office on June 18, 2024, the new government led by President Lai Ching-te prioritized combating fraud since taking office on May 20. The High Prosecutors' Office disclosed the outcomes of the first wave of investigations from May 24 to June 14, including the discovery of 25 communication centers, 16 water houses, and confiscation of NT$177.49 million, 16 real estate properties, and 10 vehicles. Alongside efforts to prosecute fraud, the authorities emphasized the importance of collaborating with public and private sectors to combat the ever-evolving fraud schemes.
