The Dutch government seized control of chipmaker Nexperia due to fears that former CEO Zhang Xuezheng was dismantling its European operations and relocating production to China. The takeover, executed on September 30, also sparked warnings from car manufacturers about potential chip shortages. Zhang had allegedly planned significant layoffs and was transferring critical company secrets to a Wingtech plant in China before being suspended by a Dutch court.
