Taiwan High Speed Rail has introduced new checkpoints for alcohol testing to prevent personnel from avoiding tests, including train drivers, conductors, and service personnel needing to pass zero-tolerance alcohol tests before duty. Following reports of a senior train conductor evading a test and a supervisor turning a blind eye, Taiwan High Speed Rail not only imposed severe penalties but also added three new mechanisms for system review, supervision checks, and manager checks to prevent similar incidents. The new measures aim to ensure accountability and eliminate misconduct among personnel.
