On the eve of the 5th anniversary of the Hong Kong anti-extradition protests, Taiwan and Hong Kong residents held a joint march in Taiwan expressing concerns over Taiwan's refugee laws and asylum mechanisms. The Mainland Affairs Council stated that they would continue to improve relevant assistance while maintaining flexibility and discretion to ensure safety and prevent interference or infiltration in related cases. They reaffirmed the government's support for Hong Kong and the commitment to standing with the people of Hong Kong for democracy, with policies and assistance being continuously refined based on feedback and maintaining the position on supporting Hong Kong.
