Taiwan Minister Hopes to Relax Restrictions on Mainland China Tourists

Reported about 1 year ago

Taiwan's Minister of Transportation, Li Meng-Yan, calls for gradual opening of independent travel for mainland Chinese tourists to Taiwan to enhance cross-strait exchanges. Li emphasizes the need for goodwill gestures from China, such as opening tour groups via the Three Links and allowing individual travelers from China to visit Taiwan. Despite Taiwan's current goal of attracting 10 million tourists, only over 3 million have visited so far. Li hopes for further relaxation of restrictions to boost tourism and bilateral relations between the two sides.
