Minister of Health and Welfare Chiu Tai-yuan announced that Taiwan plans to fund Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccinations for junior high school boys nationwide by 2025. Currently, some cities in Taiwan already offer publicly funded HPV vaccinations for junior high boys. The initiative aims for nationwide consistency to avoid disparities among cities. Additionally, suggestions for providing publicly funded vaccines for other illnesses, such as pneumococcal polysaccharide vaccines, were also discussed. The Ministry of Health and Welfare is considering these proposals to positively impact the nation's health.
