Taiwan Power Company Clarifies that Power Saving Program is not Mandatory Power Cut

Reported about 1 year ago

Taiwan Power Company (TPC) plans to launch a residential and commercial power saving trial program in July, offering fixed monthly electricity bill deduction of 48 NT dollars and an additional 10 NT dollars for every saved kilowatt-hour. TPC emphasizes that this voluntary program allows users to cancel anytime, dismissing speculations of mandatory power cuts due to electricity shortage. Participants with smart appliances can adjust usage patterns to align with power demand and receive bill rebates. TPC assures adequate power supply despite recent plant closures and peak-season electricity consumption, attributing the program timing to a government-approved plan in June.
