Taiwan Power Company pointed out on its Facebook page that power outages have decreased by 70% over the past 10 years. They clarified that incidents of power outages caused by animal intrusions have decreased to 1077 cases in 2023, emphasizing that animals are not the main reason for outages. The company stated that outages have decreased from 21,019 cases in 2012 to 6133 cases in 2023, with a significant improvement in 2023 compared to the previous year. Taiwan Power Company emphasized that outages are not related to power shortages and attributed them to a complex distribution network and various external factors such as aging equipment or natural disasters.
