Due to high power usage over the weekend on Little Liuqiu, resulting in a one-hour power outage, Taiwan Power has activated backup measures including preparing six generators to stabilize summer power supply on the island during peak travel season. With weekend island visits exceeding ten thousand, the Economic Affairs Ministry stated that power consumption has doubled compared to 2011 and additional power capacity enhancements are underway for next summer's peak demand. The island currently receives power via two undersea cables from Pingtung, with six generators on standby to ensure stable power supply during potential outages.
