After a recent incident where a Taiwan Rail train was hit by a landslide, Premier Su Tseng-chang promised to personally take a train trip in July to inspect safety measures. Despite another recent incident where a railway track was severed due to falling rocks, the Executive Yuan spokesperson confirmed that Su's commitment to the trip remains unchanged, although exact details will be announced later. Su had previously apologized for the slow government response to the railway incidents and had pledged to inspect safety measures in July during a visit to Hualien. The government is pushing the Transportation Ministry to expedite the improvement of warning systems in light of the recent accidents.
