Taiwan Railway Express Hit by Rocks, Driver and 7 Passengers Lightly Injured, 500 Passengers Shuttle Back to Hualien Station

A Taiwan Railway Express train was hit by a mudslide in Hualien, causing the train to stop in the Qingshui Tunnel. The driver and eight passengers were lightly injured, with passengers describing the frightening experience of the train abruptly stopping and crashing into the tunnel wall. All 525 passengers on board received full refunds as the train was delayed over 2 hours. Passengers were shuttled back to Xincheng Station, with local officials and emergency services managing the situation.
