Taiwan Railway's Puyuma Express Derailed due to Rockslide, Expected to Fully Recover by Noon Today

Taiwan Railway Corporation announced that the Puyuma Express No. 229 derailed due to a rockslide in Hualien's Qingshui Tunnel on June 21, leaving the train's first carriage and other parts off the track. By 8 a.m. today, the full train was successfully restored, signaling repairs to railway tracks and signaling devices. It is estimated that the entire line will be fully operational before noon today. The incident resulted in injuries to the train driver and eight passengers. Taiwan Rail is handling the situation and ensuring the passengers' safety and transportation.
