Taiwan's badminton representatives for the upcoming Paris Olympics include men's singles Chou Tien-chen, women's singles Tai Tzu-ying, men's doubles 'Lin-Yang Pair' Lee Yang, Wang Chi-lin, and mixed doubles pair Yeh Hung-wei and Lee Chia-hsin. Yeh and Lee's qualification marks Taiwan's return to the mixed doubles event after a 12-year hiatus. Reflecting on last year when Yeh had blonde hair but later dyed it back black, she expressed that she plans to change her hair color again for better luck before the Olympic draw. The duo mentioned that they use constant arguments to improve their teamwork, with Lee admitting that Yeh's persistent nagging drives her to question her performance, yet it is a preferred method to achieve victory on the court. Yeh's advantage lies in his height and unpredictable playing style, while Lee focuses on maintaining her area and allowing Yeh to follow up on the plays. Both players stress the importance of communication on the court, and while disagreements may arise, they aim to manage their emotions, with Yeh giving compliments to Lee during tense moments. Lee, 27, began focusing on doubles in 2014 and partnered with Yeh since 2022. Taiwan has only participated twice in mixed doubles at the Olympics, with their best performance being a round of 16 finish in 2004 and an elimination in the group stage in 2012.
