Reported 8 months ago

President Lai Ching-te stated that Taiwan cannot accept surrendering at the first battle, which was criticized by the Ma Ying-jeou Foundation as leaning towards seeking war. Minister of National Defense Kao Li-hung emphasized that Taiwan has never sought war and focuses on a defensive strategy and deterrence, constantly enhancing its self-defense capabilities. Kao stressed the need to recognize that the Chinese Communist Party is the troublemaker in the region, not Taiwan, which has always prioritized defensive operations. The Minister also clarified his protocol during the Yellow River Centennial School Celebration, stating that his salute was in accordance with proper etiquette when the band played the salute to the president.
