Due to the influence of southwest winds, Taitung County experienced scorching temperatures of up to 39.5 degrees Celsius, prompting an orange alert before noon on June 15th. Additionally, Taipei City, New Taipei City, Taoyuan City, Changhua County, and Hualien County all received a yellow high-temperature alert, advising people to avoid unnecessary outdoor activities and stay hydrated to prevent heat-related injuries. The extreme heatwave also led to sporadic afternoon thunderstorms in various regions while temperatures in some areas surpassed 36 degrees Celsius.
