Taiwan's Sumitomo Investment Trust introduced the first Japanese semiconductor ETF 00951 on July 4, 2024. With the semiconductor market expected to reach $1 trillion by 2030 and Japan's semiconductor equipment leading globally, foreign investment in Japanese stocks has exceeded 5 trillion yen this year. In collaboration with ICE, Sumitomo issued Taiwan's first Japanese semiconductor ETF at a low price of 10 yuan, focusing on top Japanese companies like Tokyo Electron, Rohm Semiconductor, and Advantest. This unique ETF aims to capitalize on the semiconductor trend, following the ICE Taiwan Semiconductor Benchmark Index. The ETF tracks the top 50 companies in the semiconductor industry, with expected subscription opening on July 8 and listing on July 25.
