Formosa Energy's subsidiary, Singapore-based Baowei Maritime Engineering, brought the 4,000-ton heavy lift ship 'Hercules' to Taiwan last week, marking the start of the offshore wind farm project for Taiwan Power Company. The project includes underwater foundation installations, turbine blade and tower assembly, and aims to generate green electricity equivalent to the needs of nearly 240,000 households annually, reducing carbon emissions by around 500,000 tons. This milestone signifies the first offshore wind farm project solely undertaken by a local enterprise, emphasizing Taiwan's sustainable energy development goals.
