On July 5, 2024, at 3:20 am, the Central Weather Bureau issued the latest high-temperature information urging people in 17 counties and cities to be cautious to prevent heat injuries, with yellow and orange high-temperature warnings in effect for most regions on the island. The hottest spots in Taiwan today were at the Kaohsiung Lighthouse reaching 39.9 degrees, followed by Shizi in Taipei and East District of Chiayi City at 38.4 and 37.7 degrees respectively. Citizens are advised to avoid unnecessary outdoor activities, labor, and exercise during the high temperatures, stay hydrated, and be cautious of heat injuries.
