The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Taiwan declined to comment on the speculation that former Vice President of the Examination Yuan, Lee Yi-yang, might be appointed as the new envoy to Japan, replacing current representative Shen Lyu-shun by the end of the month. While former Japanese Minister of the Interior, Lee Yi-yang, has reportedly agreed to take on the role, the Ministry stated that there is no official information available at the moment regarding changes in personnel at overseas missions. The Taiwanese government had initially considered former Vice Premier Yeh Chu-lan for the position, but after she declined, Lee Yi-yang emerged as the likely candidate.
