Yu Dequan, Taiwan's representative to the US, was accused of misusing public funds to purchase luxury furniture and personal home items for his official residence, amounting to 8 million NT dollars within six months. Huang Kuo-chang from the People’s Party requested the list of items purchased using public funds during Yu's term, but the Ministry of Foreign Affairs labeled it as a classified document. Huang criticized the use of 'classified' for items like sofas and coffee machines, questioning the need for secrecy and urging for transparency in government oversight.
