Taiwan New Japan Semiconductor ETF Fund 00951, focusing on high-purity semiconductors in Japan, will be open for subscription at 10 yuan per share (10,000 yuan per unit) on July 8, the first of its kind in Taiwan. The fund, expected to be listed on July 25, holds Tokyo’s semiconductor innovator as the top holding with a 17.8% weight, along with other major players including Rohm Semiconductor, Advantest, Disco, and SCREEN. With Taiwan Semiconductor's Japanese plant opening earlier this year and plans for a second plant in Kumamoto, the fund managers foresee explosive growth in the semiconductor market driven by AI, high-speed computing, and automotive upgrades.
