Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co.'s Kaohsiung P3 Factory Renovation Approved, Is There Really No Issue with Water and Electricity? A Sentence from Chen Chi-Mai Reveals Clues

Reported 8 months ago

Kaohsiung Mayor Chen Chi-Mai was interviewed on June 24, 2024. The 17.22-hectare land for Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co.'s third factory, P3, in the Nanzih Industrial Park was approved to be converted into a Class A industrial zone by the Kaohsiung Urban Planning Committee. Concerns were raised about water and electricity, and Chen Chi-Mai assured that there are no issues as the company has committed to using 100% recycled water. He emphasized that TSMC promised during the environmental impact assessment to fully use recycled water once the park is built. The completion of the Qiaotou recycled water plant is expected to align with the factory's development, ensuring the use of recycled water when the entire plant is completed.
