Taiwan Sweats Under the Heat Wave: 6/30 '18 Counties/Cities' Issue High Temperature Alerts, Only Hsinchu City Escapes Warning Zone

As a result of the impact of southwest wind descent, various areas are experiencing hot weather in Taiwan on June 29, 2024. With the likelihood of a foehn wind occurring in Taitung County, the Central Weather Bureau has issued high-temperature alerts for 18 counties and cities, with only Hsinchu City not included in the high-temperature warning range. Taitung County is under an orange alert, with a probability of extreme high temperatures reaching 38 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, other areas such as Taipei City, New Taipei City, Hsinchu County, Taichung City, Changhua County, Nantou County, Yunlin County, Chiayi City, Chiayi County, Tainan City, Kaohsiung City, and Pingtung County are under an orange alert for the likelihood of consecutive temperatures reaching 36 degrees Celsius. Keelung City, Taoyuan City, Miaoli County, Yilan County, and Hualien County are under a yellow alert. The public is advised to avoid unnecessary outdoor activities, labor, and exercise, apply sunscreen, stay hydrated, and be cautious of heat-related injuries.
