Taiwan Train Accident: Train Hits Falling Rocks, Driver Suffers Fractured Arm and Sent to Hualien Tzu Chi Hospital for Treatment

A Taiwan Railways Administration train, the 229 new Taroko Express, collided with falling rocks in the Qing-shui Tunnel in Hualien on June 21, causing car derailment and multiple injuries. The driver, with a fractured arm, was rescued and sent to the hospital for treatment. The accident, occurring just 100 meters from the site of the deadly Taroko Express crash in 2021, is under investigation for the exact cause. The rescue efforts are ongoing with passengers being safely evacuated and transported to nearby hospitals.
