During a visit to Shilin Elementary School in Taipei, Wu Chun-Cheng, a legislator from the People First Party, expressed the urgency for Taiwan to pass the 'School Meal Act,' stating that Taiwan is over half a century behind Japan and South Korea in this aspect. Wu emphasized the need for a balanced consensus in aspects such as ensuring reasonable profits for providers, sharing responsibilities among parents, schools, and the government, and meeting students' needs. He highlighted the importance of legislation to address systemic challenges faced by school meal providers in Taiwan.
