A technician surnamed Yan from the First District Management Office of Taiwan's Water Corporation was reported for allegedly accepting bribes from a contractor through designing expandable stop valves. Following the report, the Anti-Corruption Agency, under the guidance of the Keelung District Prosecutor's Office, conducted a search and interrogated both Yan and the contractor surnamed Li. They were then approved for arrest on suspicion of violating the anti-corruption law. Yan's involvement in receiving bribes for expediting project payments was revealed after investigations, leading to their detention to prevent possible escape or tampering of evidence.
