In May, Chinatrust Bank reclaimed the top spot in credit card transaction volume with 611.9 billion NTD, surpassing Cathay United Bank. On the other hand, Standard Chartered Bank issued the most credit cards in a single month at 449,000, followed by Chinatrust Bank and E.Sun Bank issuing over 80,000 cards each. This change in rankings marked Chinatrust Bank as the top credit card spender and Standard Chartered Bank as the top credit card issuer in May. Various banks experienced growth in transaction volumes and card issuance due to factors such as increased travel, dining, and shopping activities.
