A small inn in Taitung, Taiwan, faced a backlash online with numerous 1-star reviews and malicious comments on Google after being accused of installing hidden cameras for voyeurism. The inn's owner, surnamed Chen, posted an apology message on Facebook, but the anger among netizens continued, leading to a drop in the inn's ratings. Despite the inn receiving good ratings in the past, the recent scandal severely damaged Taitung County's tourism image, prompting other accommodations in the area to purchase anti-hidden camera detectors to restore trust among visitors.
