The Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) is holding a national party congress on July 21, with internal elections for central party positions taking place. Legislator Chen Ting-fei, who belongs to the faction '正國會,' was expelled from the faction for not complying with its decisions. Despite being warned about being cut off from the faction for aspiring to run for central committee, Chen Ting-fei insisted on running, resulting in her expulsion. Two other members also faced the same fate. Chen explained that the faction had two seats available for the central committee, one of which belonged to another member, leaving a second seat open. She stressed that if she had to be cut off for insisting on running for the central committee, then she had no choice.
