On June 24, 2024, in a joint operation between the Fengyuan Police Substation in Taichung and the Chiayi City Police Bureau, 5 suspects were arrested for a kidnapping and ransom case, where a victim was rescued within 4 hours. The suspects were found with cash, drugs, and weapons. The case involved one of the suspects accusing a friend of a victim of taking 1.4 million NT and demanding payment from the victim's father. The police swiftly coordinated with prosecutors and successfully apprehended the suspects while rescuing the victim.
