Reported 11 months ago

Taiwan is facing a crisis of declining birth rates, leading to schools struggling with insufficient enrolment. In the 113th academic year, 18 more schools will be closing, setting a new record high, adding to the existing 44 elementary schools that have shut down in the past decade due to the declining number of students. Among the 18 schools closing in the 113th academic year, Tiger Well Elementary School in Penghu will only have 2 students left, prompting the school to merge with Magong Elementary School in the upcoming academic year.
