The Taiwan Bureau of Foreign Trade held a 'Taiwan-India Petrochemical Cooperation Exchange Meeting' in Mumbai, India, where 120 Indian buyers from various cities engaged in 217 discussions with Taiwanese businesses specializing in plastic packaging, detergents, chemicals, rubber factories, and petrochemical applications. Major Taiwanese companies, including Formosa Plastics, were present as a response to the termination of tariff preferences on Taiwanese petrochemical products by Mainland China. The director of the Bureau highlighted Taiwan's competitiveness in the global petrochemical industry and the potential for collaboration with the rapidly expanding Indian manufacturing sector. High-profile Indian buyers like HPCL, Honeywell International India, and Jindal were among the attendees, showing interest in partnerships with Taiwanese enterprises. The AIPMA and GSPMA also participated, with an invitation extended to visit the Taipei International Plastics and Rubber Industry Exhibition in September.
