In Nantou County, Taiwan, a 60-year-old woman was doing laundry at home during the Dragon Boat Festival when she was bitten by a snake hidden under the washing machine. Prompt medical attention, aided by photos taken by family members, revealed she was bitten by a venomous snake known as Trimeresurus stejnegeri, commonly called the 'King Cobra'. Doctors administered anti-venom promptly, saving her life. The incident served as a reminder to be cautious during summer, when snakes and insects are more active in Taiwan.
