A Taiwanese female tourist in Palau was taken to a small room for an inspection by customs officers, where she was asked to strip for a full-body check, causing her great humiliation and ultimately leaving the room in tears. The Taiwanese Embassy in Palau quickly responded to the incident. Palau, known for its natural beauty and water activities, is a popular tourist destination. The incident occurred due to increased customs security following a Chinese woman attempting to smuggle drugs in her private area in May. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that Taiwanese citizens facing emergencies or unfair treatment in Palau can contact the Taiwanese Embassy for assistance.
