Since the severe earthquake in Taroko two months ago, the management office has initiated a 3-phase repair plan with lighter affected areas like the Taroko Visitor Center and Buluowan being contracted for construction, projected to reopen gradually by the end of this year. However, more severely damaged sites like the Shakadang Trail may require a longer restoration period, possibly delaying visitors' return until next year. Despite nearby businesses shutting down, efforts to rebuild and open sections of the park are in progress as authorities address challenges like labor shortages.
