The Ministry of Finance in Taiwan annually discloses the list of tax defaulters in July, with stock market figure Huang Renzhong remaining at the top with accumulated individual income tax debt of 19.35 billion, leading for 15 years. This year, 16 cases of unrecoverable tax debts amounting to 31.97 billion were written off. The list includes familiar faces among the country's tax defaulting individuals and businesses. Among the latest individuals with outstanding tax debts are Huang Renzhong, followed by his sister Huang Xinping, making a total debt of nearly 32 billion, while the Huang Chengzhi family from Kaohsiung remains in second place with 15.12 billion owed in income and inheritance taxes. Notable movements include Lin Tiancai, known as the 'Father of Taiwanese Fungi,' now ranking fifth with 5.79 billion unpaid income tax, and Yeh Deshyao's family rising to fourth place with debts exceeding 8 billion. In terms of corporate tax defaulters, Huan Ya Hotel maintains the top spot with an accumulated tax debt of 21.8 billion from not paying business income tax over the years. The Ministry announced a total of 915 cases nationally with a sum of around 895.12 billion, showing a decrease from the previous year's 931 cases and a reduction of 31.97 billion in total debt amount.
