Reported about 1 year ago
A teacher at a primary school in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, has allegedly sexually abused numerous male students for over 20 years before the school and education authorities became aware of the situation in the past year. The abuse was uncovered when a third-grade student and his mother informed the school about the teacher's suspicious behavior. The case has now resulted in the teacher being sentenced to 18 years in prison for crimes including aggravated forcible intercourse, under the Protection of Children and Youths Welfare and Rights Act and the Criminal Code. At least 16 victims, ranging from 9 to 27 years old, have been identified, with disturbing evidence found on the teacher's electronic devices, including child sexual abuse videos. The teacher specifically targeted vulnerable students from low-income or single-parent families, and the crimes were only unveiled due to the courage of a concerned mother and her child speaking up.
