Local authorities in Palma de Mallorca, Spain revealed that the building housing a bar and restaurant that collapsed on Mallorca, killing four people, did not have the necessary authorization. The collapse of a first-floor terrace was attributed to excess weight and poorly executed construction work. The victims included two German women, a Spanish woman, and a Senegalese man. The incident occurred on Thursday when the terrace collapsed under the weight of 12 Dutch individuals and waiters, causing damage to the street-level floor and basement. Authorities stated that there should not have been any activity on top of the building.
